Isabel Cuckoo Orpington

 Truly one of the most beautiful Orpington varieties  available and a favorite here at the farm.  We have brought the Isabel Cuckoo back into production for 2021!  We seen an increased  interest in this variety in 2020 and decided to bring them back! We have purchased stock from several different breeders in 2020. We are dedicated to preserving and continuing to improve this beautiful variety. 
The coloring on these magnificent English large fowl beauties just pops out on fresh green pasture.

The Isabel Cuckoo is genetically a diluted barred partridge, with buff highlights.

This is not the easiest of colors to breed. After several generations the partridge pattern will fade and it becomes time to introduce Crele Orpington back into the breeding program to darken the Lavender and define the barred partridge pattern.  We plan to cross back to Crele in 2021.

Isabel Cuckoo Orpington from Fancy Chick, 1st generation from direct imports. This picture shows the diluted barred partridge pattern in the base coloring of the birds which is what makes this color truly unique.
